Me, apparently. I have a vintage 5-string Kay with an aluminum pot and resonator that is living in South Dakota. But I fell in love with the plunky, Civil-war-era tone of the original Good Time. So much in love that I don't want to drag it everywhere and risk it being torn up. So I found a used $125 wooden-pot Samick with great planetary tuners and a wooden pot, so I could take the back off and have a plunky banjo I could afford to drag everywhere and use as a canoe paddle in a pinch. Wouldn't mind having a true professional resonator/tone-ring banjo for Bluegrass, but I don't play THAT much Bluegrass. How about you all? Paul |

Oh, I forgot my 6-strings. At the moment I own three, but that's going down to one that I think will replace my other two. Which will take my total number of banjos owned from six to four. |

Tried out a Gretsch that was on special at Musician's Friend for $300. Nicer than either of my other open-backs. Louder, prettier, more solid. But not that much more playable, really. So it's going back which will take me back to three 5-strings, one of which I never see. |
